I was saddened to learn of Ruth's passing and disappointed in myself that I hadn't been in touch for so long. When I think of Ruth, a warm, happy feeling comes over me. She was so warm and encouraging as my piano teacher, which is how I got to know her. She was so loved as a piano teacher for so many children in the Bethel area and I was disappointed to hear (years ago) that she was no longer taking students. But as an adult, she was willing to take me on. I felt so fortunate and looked forward to my weekly lessons, not just for learning piano from such a wonderful teacher, but for a visit with Ruth as well. Sometimes she'd be playing the piano before I arrived and I'd wait outside the door just to hear her. Other times she'd be knitting to keep her hands moving. She brought me such joy. I love you, Ruth. My sympathy to family and friends.
