Obituary of Robert F. Selkis

Robert F. Selkis, age 73, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Elizabeth Russo Selkis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Saratoga Springs, NY on November 20, 1942, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Dulmage Selkis. A graduate of the West Point class of 1965, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served honorably during the Vietnam War. Robert retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985. He later was employed with the former Norden Systems, where he worked as the head of security for many years before his retirement in 2002. An avid golfer and fisherman, Mr. Selkis was also a member of the Tashua Knolls Senior Men's Club where he built many lasting friendships. Above all else however, his greatest enjoyment was found during the time he spent with his family. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Elizabeth, other survivors include his loving children, Amy Lamaker and her husband Michael of New Canaan and Michael Selkis of Saratoga Springs, NY, four cherished grandchildren, Nayeli and Tobias Selkis and Sophie and Emma Lamaker, two brothers, Benjamin Selkis and his wife Phyllis of Bluffton, SC and Bernard Selkis and his wife Cindy of Rensselaer, NY, a sister, Dolores Shelley and her husband Rob of Charlotte, NC as well as several nieces and nephews. All funeral services will be held in West Point, NY at a later date.
