Obituary of Joseph Guy Capra

Joseph Guy Capra, age 66, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Jill Curley Capra, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Born in Bridgeport on February 23, 1959 he was the son of the late Guy and Yolanda Spiriti Capra. Joe was a 1976 graduate of Notre Dame of Fairfield. Joe was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with 18 years of dedicated service before his recent retirement. A true lover of music, Joe loved listening to the Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and his favorite Paul Anka. He and Jill often went to many concerts together and one was highlighted by dining in the same restaurant as Paul Anka where they met him and were able to get a picture with Paul. An avid Yankee fan, he was very proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed sharing Italian traditions with his family. Joe was a loving and dedicated husband and father and treasured time spent with his family. The unconditional love he gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 36 years, Jill, survivors include his two cherished children, his son, Tyler Capra, and his daughter, Brooke Capra (Steve), his brother, Vincent Capra, brothers and sisters-in-law, Sheree Parker and her husband Mitch, Jeffrey Curley and his wife Christine, Michael Curley and his wife Darlene, James Curley and his wife Yolanda, Suzy Browning and her husband Jim, Andrea Hathaway and her husband Bill, and Alicia Curley and her partner Chris Watts; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Joe's memory on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
