Obituary of Lucy C. DiGirolamo
Lucy "Lucy D" Guglielmi DiGirolamo, age 89, beloved wife of Gaetano "Toke" DiGirolamo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025. Born in Bridgeport on September 29, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Carlotta Christino Guglielmi. Reared, married and having raised four loving sons, Lucy was cherished, loved and held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. She was notably recognized and highly regarded for her cooking skills, venturing into both the restaurant and catering venues with her sons.
What she enjoyed most was being in the company of "her boys", who constantly teased her and made her laugh, and her grandkids, who smothered her with love. A fond memory of hers was when she wasn't with her husband Toke, her brother Jr. would take her dancing and bar hopping.
In addition to her beloved husband of 68 years, Gaetano "Toke" DiGirolamo, survivors include her four loving sons, Gaetano (Guy) DiGirolamo and his wife Dawn of Ansonia, Mark DiGirolamo of Derby, David DiGirolamo of Monroe and Dino DiGirolamo and his wife Maria of Trumbull; her doting grandchildren, Joseph (JD), David and his wife Marissa, Dino, Dante and Adriana DiGirolamo, a cherished great grandson, Giovanni DiGirolamo, all who will miss spending time with their beloved Gram. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her loyal and devoted sister, Mary Parisi, of Bridgeport, with whom she was joined at the hip and her loving brother Jack Guglielmi and his wife Janet of Milford, sister-in-law, Marie Ambrosini of Monroe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her much-loved brother, Tony (Jr) Guglielmi and her brothers-in-law, Philip Parisi, Angelo DiGirolamo and Gustavo DiGirolamo, Joseph (Bucky) Ambrosini and sister-in-law Theresa DiGirolamo.
The family wishes to thank the internal staff, 3rd floor nurses and aides of Northbridge Health Care Center for their care of Lucy. She may have occasionally given them a hard time but everyone knew that when she jokingly cussed them out, she loved them.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather to honor Lucy D's memory on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
