Obituary of Atanasio Girotto

Atanasio Girotto, age 85, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Loretta Roma Girotto, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born in Postioma, Treviso, Italy on May 3, 1939, he was a son of the late Antonio and Emilia Tonnellato Girotto. Along with his family, they immigrated to the United States in 1977 and settled in Bridgeport. A skilled and master craftsman, Atanasio began his career with Custom Craft Kitchen in Monroe, which would span over 20 years. He was a dedicated and faithful parishioner at St. Margaret's Shrine, and was also a member of the Circolo Sportivo American Italian Club. He was a hardworking and giving man. He provided nothing but the best for his family and always put their needs before his own. The unconditional love he gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his two loving sons, Massimo Girotto and Franco Girotto and his wife Melissa, four cherished grandchildren, Christopher Girotto and his fiancé Allison Roberts, Thomas Girotto and his fiancé Emilee Tamas, Gabriela Girotto Griffin and her husband Cory and Alessandra Girotto, two brothers, Giorgio and Gianni Girotto and a sister, Maria Girotto, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
