Obituary of Vincent J. Maiolo Jr.
Vincent J. Maiolo, Jr., age 84 of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Valentine) Maiolo. Born in Bridgeport on October 12, 1940, he was a son of the late Vincent J. Maiolo, Sr. and Mary (DeCesare) Maiolo and was a longtime resident of Fairfield.
Vinny was a graduate of Bullard Havens High School in Bridgeport where he starred in both baseball and basketball and later went on to receive a degree in Industrial Engineering from New Haven College. His long career as an engineer led him to Lacey Manufacturing where he retired after 28 years of dedicated service. He was a true sports enthusiast, coaching little league baseball and playing softball early on as well as playing golf later in life. Some of his greatest moments were when he and Elizabeth traveled to Italy and taking cruises, but his greatest joy came from seeing his family at reunions and spending time with his granddaughters and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Elizabeth of 68 years, survivors include his devoted daughter, Donna Hering and her husband Gary, a sister, Rachel Stempick, two loving granddaughters, Jillian Carroll and her husband Richard and Jamie Videira, four cherished great grandchildren, Makenna & Avery Carroll and Jake & Charlotte Videira and two sisters-in-law, Ernestine Maiolo and Phyllis Cortina and her husband Benedetto as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his loving son, Vincent J. Maiolo, III, a brother, Nicholas J. Maiolo and a brother-in-law, Jack Stempick.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield.
