Obituary of Dania L. McKinnon

Dania Lynn Marciano McKinnon, age 56, of Shelton, devoted wife of Porter C. McKinnon III, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Stamford on April 4, 1970, Dania was a daughter of the late Anthony J. Marciano, Jr. and Mary Theresa (Halton) Marciano and was a longtime resident of Shelton.

In addition to her beloved husband Porter of 30 years, she also leaves to cherish her memory her three loving children, Porter C. McKinnon, IV, Carson J. McKinnon and Reese E. McKinnon. She is also survived by four siblings, Robert Marciano, Sharon Pia, Bonnie Marciano and Anthony J. Marciano, III and his wife Shannon as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was Mommy to her three beautiful children, Honey to her Husband, Porter and Aunt Dane to over 20 nieces and nephews.

Before every football game she would kiss her boys and tell them "Play Hard, Play Safe" before they took the field. Then she would make her way to the stands where she could always be found halfway up on the 40-yard line so her boys always knew where to look to see her in the stands.

She cherished the days she spent getting coffee, wandering TJ Maxx or Trader Joe's and going home to watch Gilmore Girls with Reese.

She spent weekend mornings sipping tea, always making sure to save the last sip for her puppy, Daisy.

A beloved friend to so many, she greeted everyone with a smile. She loved spending afternoons on the deck enjoying a drink with Lucille and working alongside one of her best friends, Sheri, for over a decade.

She was Porter's best friend and the love of his life ever since their first kiss on December 21, 1984.

She was the kindest, most caring and beautiful soul to all those who were blessed to have known her. She will be missed, but live in our hearts forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton. Burial will private. Relatives and friends may greet Dania's family on Wednesday, July 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
