Obituary of James J. Moran
James J. Moran Jr. of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, with his family by his side at Lord Chamberlain of Stratford. The son of James Sr. and Georgiana (Hamilton) Moran, James was predeceased by his first grandchild, Jamie Elizabeth Moran. Jim is survived by his lovingly devoted wife of 55 years, Gertrude Giaquinto Moran, his three children, James III and his wife Carey of Stonington, Raymond Moran and his partner Mark Oldham of Shelton, and Andree Stusalitus and her husband, John, of Shelton. Jims legacy lives on through his six grandchildren, Johnna, James IV, Leo, and Eddie Moran, and Sean and Ryan Stusalitus. Jim also leaves behind his two loving sisters, Lorraine Warren and her late husband, Ed, and Doris Plavnicky and her husband, John. In addition, many loving members of his large Irish/Italian extended family and friends all of whom he cherished. Jim was an Air Force veteran who served in Occupied Germany during the Korean War. He was an accountant for The Olin Corporation for over 20 years. After retirement, Jim and Gert traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Orient. He was proud to tell that he visited all fifty states. Jim was a kind and gentle soul, who quietly prayed the rosary daily, and served as a Christian role model for all who knew him. He was a generous and friendly man who could strike up a conversation with anyone. The last couple of years were spent quietly enjoying family and friends at St. Joseph Adult Daycare in Trumbull. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
