Obituary of James R. Murphy

James Richard Murphy, Jr., age 57, of Bridgeport, died unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Born and raised in Bridgeport, he was a son of Margaret Costello Murphy of Bridgeport and the late James R. Murphy. Mr. Murphy was employed as a custodian for the City of Bridgeport, Board of Education for the past 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Marchegiana Society, where he also served as a bartender. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Michele Manzo Murphy of Bridgeport, his loving daughters, Shauna Murphy and her fiance, Robert Conrad of Fairfield and Lisa Bartlet and her husband, Donald of Monroe; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Joseph Bartlet; two brothers, Michael and Patrick Murphy, both of Bridgeport and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 

Friends can greet the family on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A prayer service will be conducted on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
