Obituary of Helen E. Neri

Helen E. Neri, age 95, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Anthony C. Neri, died on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in Maefair Health Center. Born in Brooklyn, New York on January 9, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Francesca LoCurcio Franzo.

Along with her late husband Anthony they operated Neri Company Florist Supply in Bridgeport and later Neri Advertising Specialties. She was also the Administrative Secretary for Fruitrich Cadillac and was the head accountant of Marbert Manufacturing. Helen was an avid bridge player and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband she was predeceased by her brother Salvatore Franzo. Survivors include a son, Anthony S. Neri and his wife, Joyce of Sandy Hook, two daughters, Gloria Melli and her husband, Michael and Rosanne Neri, all of Stratford, a daughter-in-law, Susan Neri of Fairfield, a sisterin-law Carol Franzo of SC, grandchildren, Jennifer Olimpieri and her husband, Carl, Anthony P. Neri, Alan Unger, Rachel Brochu and her husband, Eugene, Adele Unger, Jeremy K. Saladyga and his wife Wendy, Ian A. Saladyga and his wife Charlotte, Michael Melli, Jr. and his wife, Ann, Karen Ferraro and her husband Albert and Lisa DiNardo and her husband Peter, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
