Obituary of James D. Nestor
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather
James D. Nestor Sr., age 72, of Trumbull, loving husband of Susan Lobdell Nestor, died peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Houston, PA on October 31, 1938 he was a son of the late Floyd and Mary Wilson Nestor. He was a retired employee of Phelps Memorial Hospital, Tarrytown NY. A U.S. Army veteran James was a past Commander of Post 45, Meriden and was a member of the American Legion Post 174. He enjoyed gardening and hunting in Vermont with his children and grandchildren and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His true enjoyment came when he was playing his horn in the drum and bugle corp. Jim was a member of the Connecticut Hurricanes, Connecticut Yankee and the Connecticut Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also a past director of the Alumni Drum and Bugle Corp. Above all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed. In addition to his beloved wife Susan, of 19 years, survivors include his four children, Kimberly Smith of Vermont, Tracy DeMarco of Manchester, James Nestor Jr., and Charles Nestor both of Vermont, two stepchildren, Shailene Fellows and her husband Matthew of NY and Jessica Anderson and her husband Erik of Trumbull, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his canine companions Harley and Bear. Funeral Information
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday September 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information
