Obituary of Doreen Newman

Beloved Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother Doreen (Schauwecker) Stoccatore Newman, age 59, of Shelton, beloved wife of Christopher Newman, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Dementia on January 13, 2012. Doreen was born in Bridgeport on August 15th, 1952 to Mildred Mate and the late John Schauwecker. Doreen grew up in Success Park. Doreen worked at Skydels, Success Dry Good Store and finished her career at Bridgeport Hospital. Doreen is preceded in death by her first husband Ben Stoccatore; her mother-in-law Elizabeth Newman; her brother-in-law Bill Newman; and her step-father Alexander Mate. Doreen leaves behind to cherish her memories, two loving daughters, Jennifer Stoccatore Ferrara and her husband Todd of Stratford and Nicole Newman of Shelton; two beloved grandsons Tyler George and Justin Michael; a sister Jacqueline Coen; brother Keith Schauwecker; her father-in-law William Newman; two sisters-in-law, Lizbeth Newman and husband Gary of Eaton Rapids, MI and Joan Oldham and husband Steve of Bethel. Doreen leaves behind a number of very special nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Doreen was an avid softball player and an exceptional bowler. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Gardner Heights Health Care Center. Funeral Information Prayer Services will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.
