Obituary of Laura Albuquerque

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Laura Pinto Albuquerque, age 88, of Monroe, loving wife of the late Emidio Albuquerque, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Masonicare of Newtown with her devoted family by her side. Born on March 29, 1923 in Esmolfe, Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Emidio Albuquerque Pinto and Olivia DeJesus. Laura was a loving, beautiful and energetic woman who loved the company of her family. Her childlike spirit was obvious while playing with her great-grandchildren. She will be sadly and deeply missed by all, but her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Abilio Pinto Albuquerque and Alfredo J. Albuquerque Sr., a grandson, Marco P. Ventura and a great grandson Alex Antonio Albuquerque. She is survived by her devoted and loving children, Otilia Ventura and her husband Leonel of Bridgeport, Leonor Santos and her husband Carlos, Esperanca Alves, Alexandre Albuquerque and his wife Celeste, all of Monroe, Antonio Albuquerque and his wife Louisa of Oxford and Paulo Albuquerque and Debbie of Bridgeport, 21 cherished grandchildren and 30 adored great grandchildren, who she took great pride in and loved very deeply. Laura also leaves her brothers and sisters, Maria Santos, Antonio Albuquerque, Hermino Pinto and his wife Lucinda all of Bridgeport, Alfredo Pinto of Stratford, Luzita Lopes of Fairfield, Alexandre Pinto and his wife Cecilia of Rhode Island, Olivia Lagos of Lisbon, Portugal and as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff of Masonicare of Newtown for their dedication to the care and support of our mother. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday August 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in Esmolfe Cemetery, Portugal. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
