Obituary of Richard E. Gallagher

Richard E. Gallagher, age 71, of Orange, beloved husband of Carol Gursky Gallagher, died January 8, 2011 in the Hospital of St. Raphael with his loving family by his side. Born on September 23, 1939 he was a son of the late John and Marie McCarthy Gallagher. A retired employee of Raybestos, he was also a baker for many years for Nancy Lynn Bakery in Bridgeport. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol, survivors include seven loving children, Emily Gallagher and Donna Gallagher both of Orange, Richard E. Gallagher of California, Anthony J. Gallagher and wife Lina, Michael C. Gallagher and his wife Karen, John F. Gallagher and James M. Gallagher all of Orange, five cherished grandchildren John R., Richard III, Shane M., Shannon L. and Jessica M. Gallagher, a sister Beverly Ellis of PA as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Mary the Immaculate Conception Church, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Thursday January 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
