Obituary of Muriel Alice Recchia

Muriel Alice Ferland Recchia, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Daniel D. Recchia, died on Monday, September 30, 2013 in Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. Born in Newburyport, MA on February 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Laura DeHayes Ferland. Muriel was a district manager of Hoffritz for Cutlery for many years before her retirement. Survivors include her children, Brian Longley (Linda) of Milford, Leslie Tracey of MA, Michael Recchia (Molly) of MI and Barbara Recchia of CA; grandchildren, Alan Longley (Teresa), Eric Longley (Rouchelle), Justin Tracey, Karissa Tracey, Emily and Mireille Recchia, Dylan Recchia (Jennifer) and Nile Recchia; great grandchildren, Stephen, Emma, Cy, JD, Elin, Alejandro, Dylan Jr. and Riley. She also leaves a sister, Lillian Mesarich of Trumbull, sister-in-law, Margaret Recchia of Milford, brother-in-law, Ernest Recchia of Stratford, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Raymond Prunier. Muriel loved to dance, ice skate, sew and cook. She loved to entertain, especially for her family and friends. Spending time with her family always made her day. Her goal in life was to make others feel happy and loved. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 297 Second Hill Lane, Stratford.
