Obituary of Mary Rivera

Mary Katherine Rivera, age 89, of Bridgeport, wife of the late Victor Santiago Rivera, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at her daughters home after a brief illness. Mary was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 12, 1918, and was a long time resident of New Rochelle, NY and Islip, NY and lived in Bridgeport for the past seven years. Marys love for life was her family. She is survived by her four daughters, Margaret Mangieri and her husband Dr. John Mangieri of Easton, Victoria Ninivaggi and her husband Dr. Angelo Ninivaggi of North Haven, L.I., Mary Ellen Begnoche and her husband Leo Begnoche Jr. of New City, NY and Katherine Jennings and her husband Mark Jennings Sr., of White Plains, NY; her four sons, Victor Rivera Jr. and his wife Ofelia of Myrtle Beach, SC, Richard Rivera of Mahwah, NJ, Anthony Rivera of Stamford, CT and Robert Rivera and his wife Betty of Westport, CT; grandchildren, Daniel Ninivaggi, Gina DeEsso, Lisa Marie Hartmann, Christine Garcia, Bernadette Gozdz, Victoria Hodson, Marjorie Grace Alix, Angelo Ninivaggi, Danielle Brienza, Denise Hartmann, Elia Chiampitti, Victor Rivera, Monique Chiarito, Leo Begnoche III, Richard Rivera Jr., Christopher Begnoche, Michelle Rivera, Michael Rivera, Anthony Rivera Jr., Brian Rivera, Elizabeth Brown, Mark Jennings Jr., Jonathan Rivera, Elizabeth Jennings, Shaun Rivera, Mary Rivera, Garrett Jennings, Jessica Marie Rivera (deceased May 28, 1988), Robert Michael Rivera, Patrick Rivera, Scott Jennings, Justin Rivera, Alexandra Rivera, Carolina Rivera, and Christian Rivera; 39 great grandchildren, Allison Hodson, Scott Hartmann, Thomas Garcia, Jonathan Garcia, Ryan Hartmann, Sarah Hodson, Olivia Gozdz, Caleb Ninivaggi, Peter Garcia, Anne Ninivaggi, Matthew Ninivaggi, Caitlon Hartmann, Michael Ninivaggi, Jane Ninivaggi, Edward Gozdz, Steven Alix, Jack Ninivaggi, Kelly Hartmann, Jennifer Garcia, Jennifer Alix, Kacey Hartmann, Sara Alix, Michael Chiarito, Julia Lynn Hartmann, Reece Ciampitti, Sydney Rivera, Noelle DeEsso, Isabela Ninivaggi, Joseph Chiarito, Paige Rivera, Bryce Alan Ciampitti, Cara DiDomenico, Matthew Hartmann, Stalla Begnoche Jr., James Begnoche, Matthew Rivera, Martina Begnoche, Aiden DiDomenico, and Zachary Rivera. She was a generous, selfless and sharing woman who always taught others to find the good in every situation. Her contagious smile will be missed. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
