Obituary of Beverly Sakal

Resident of Trumbull Beverly Lockwood Sakal, age 72, a resident of Trumbull for 43 years, passed away in Fairfield on Sunday, October 15, 2006 after a struggle with cancer. Beverly was born on April 5, 1934, the only daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Lockwood. She was raised in Fairfield, graduated with the Roger Ludlowe High School, class of 1952 and married her husband Ralph of 52 years at St. Thomas Church, Fairfield in 1954. Beverly received a degree in secretarial studies from the University of Bridgeport in 1954. She worked as a secretary for the Fairfield Recreation Department (1951-1952); H. O. Canfield Co. (1954); Mitchell Air Force Base (1955-1956) and Edwin Moss and Sons (1956-1959). Beverly then served as an Administrative Assistant for 23 years at Casco Products, Inc. in Bridgeport until her retirement in 1991. Throughout retirement Beverly loved to travel, read and follow figure skating. She was active in the Bridgeport Industrial Retirees, the Bessemer Center Seniors and was a parishioner at St. Theresa Parish of Trumbull. Beverlys family would like to thank everyone at Medical Specialists of Fairfield and the VNS of Connecticut Hospice Program for their support during her illness. Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Ralph and her son, Wayne Sakal and his wife, Deborah of Monroe. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
