Obituary of Fredric C. Schneider

Resident of Oxford Fredric (Fred) C. Schneider, age 57, of Oxford, CT, beloved husband of Nancy Kelkites Schneider, died suddenly, Monday, August 9, 2010 at his home. He is the loving father of Ryan M. Schneider of Oxford, and Tara Schneider Forzano and her husband Matt and his adored grandsons Shane, also his godson, Matthew, and Alex Forzano of Vernon, CT, Sergeant Kyle O. Schneider and his wife Rebekah of Honolulu, Hawaii. He is also survived by his loving sister, Joanna Schneider Hagan and her husband Larry of Scottsdale, AZ, sister Catherine Schneider Baber and her husband John of Albuquerque, NM, and brother Stephen Schneider and his wife Ellen and their children Elizabeth and Emily of Oxford, CT. He left behind his parents Thelma (Vicki) and Carl Schneider of Orange, CT and his aunts Jeannette Kaulfers of Midlothian, VA and Alice Schneider of Clarke, NJ along with many dear friends and neighbors. Born in Milford, CT on February 14, 1953, he was a member of St. James Roman Catholic church in Stratford, CT for 18 years and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford, CT for the last 13 years. He practiced his Roman Catholic faith daily and it showed by the warm, loving relationships with both his immediate family, extended family, and friends. He was a wonderful role model of marriage for us all and showed his extreme caring for his wife, Nancy by his unconditional love and devotion to her for 31 years. He was a kind, generous, and compassionate person that lived his life with old-fashioned values and morals. He showed great patience and understanding of people and his actions spoke volumes about his character and principles. He received much satisfaction from helping others, especially his immediate family. No matter what the project, he was always willing to lend his time and talents to the cause and always with a loving heart. Family was most important to him. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, son and brother and treasured nothing more than to be in the midst of his flock. He was unselfish, kind and gentle, yet a kid at heart. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He and Nancy facilitated second marriage prep classes at the Bridgeport Diocese while in St. James Church. He was a mentor in the Bridgeport School system for many years for inner city children and looked forward to each meeting. He volunteered and ran several AmeriCares Home Front Projects from his parish because of his love for helping others. He wrote about spiritual issues, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5066 of Southbury, CT and a recent member of St. Thomas the Apostle M.O.S.T. {Men of St. Thomas}. He lived out his life when love was the dash in his life that really mattered. Fred went to St. Bernards College in Alabama then graduated from Norwalk Tech. He worked for 25 years at Dictaphone Corporation first as a Technician and later as an Engineer developing computerized voice recording systems, and was most recently involved developing battery charging systems at Firing Circuits of Shelton, CT. He had several patents during his career. He used his technological talents to help design and build his home in Oxford. Fred was known as an avid builder and designer of all things electronic and mechanical. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, with a funeral procession leaving the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
