Obituary of Generoso Tarantino

Founder Tarantino's Landscaping Generoso (Gino) Tarantino, age 87, of Trumbull, died on Sunday, August 12, 2007. Born in Flumeri, Province of Avellino, Italy on January 11, 1920, he was a son of the late Anthony and Caroline Tarantino and was a veteran of the Italian Army. He was the founder of Tarantinos Landscaping of Bridgeport which he established in 1952. Mr. Tarantino was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and was a member of the Roma Club, Circolo Sportivo Italian American Club and the Knights of Columbus, St. Francis Cabrini Council. He was predeceased by a son, Anthony Tarantino, two daughters, Rose Foley and Caroline Conlin and a grandson, Aaran Tarantino. Survivors include three children, Mary Ruszkowski and her husband Stanley, Gino Tarantino and his wife, Susan, and Ralph Tarantino all of Trumbull, proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren, Kim Humber, Anthony Tarantino Jr., Stanley Ruszkowski III, Michael Ruszkowski, Ryan Tarantino, Megan Tarantino, Ashley Tarantino, Stacey Miller, Jillian Miller, Matthew Tarantino, Gina Tarantino and Gino Tarantino, a great granddaughter, Hailey Grace. He also leaves his former wife Angela Marie Silano, a dear family friend Joseph Chmielewski and his family along with many relatives in Italy. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Inurnment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
