Obituary of Ersilio Tartaglia
Ersilio Tartaglia, age 85 of Monroe, beloved husband of Anna Loretta DeAngelis Tartaglia, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in St. Vincents Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Minturno, Province of Latina, Italy on August 8, 1927, he was a son of the late Francesco and Nicandra Cappuccia Tartaglia. Mr. Tartaglia immigrated to the United States in 1947, and settled in Bridgeport. He was a retired foreman for E&F Construction and was a member of Laborers Local 665. Mr. Tartaglia loved singing and opera, and performed at the Polka Dot Playhouse in Bridgeport. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors; but most of all he treasured time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Anna, survivors include four loving children, Frank Tartaglia and his wife Deborah, Floria Mallozzi and her husband Mario, Linda Smeraglino and her husband Dominic Jr., and Leo Tartaglia Sr. and his wife Beverly, all of Monroe; 14 cherished grandchildren, Daniel Tartaglia, Lisa Rubio and her husband GeanCarlo, Frank Jr. and Andrew Tartaglia, Jennifer Mallozzi, Julie Milks, and Vicki Mallozzi, Mario Malozzi Jr. and his wife Rosanna, Dominic Smeraglino III and his wife Kristen, David Smeraglino and his wife Cristina, Marc Smeraglino and his wife Melissa, Selina Convertito and her husband Michael, Leo Tartaglia Jr. and his wife Jaime and Dana Tartaglia; nine treasured great grandchildren; a brother, Anthony Tartaglia and his wife Antoinette of Monroe; sister-in-law, Josephine Tartaglia of Monroe, brother-in-law, Emilio DeAngelis and his wife Vanna of Bridgeport, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Ben and Joe Tartaglia.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
