Obituary of Bruno Ray Tombolato

Bruno Ray Tombolato, age 71, of Huntington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in New York, New York on May 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Francesco and Caroline Cinel Tombolato. Mr. Tombolato was an employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with 32 years of service and retired as Vice President of Manufacturing. He was an avid Yankee and Giant fan, loved playing poker and enjoyed boating, fishing and playing golf. Ray had a special spice for life; he truly enjoyed everyday and made those around him feel the love for life. His true love and passion was his family. He was a devoted husband and father but most of all, he was at his best when he was with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 50 years, Rose Mandolfo Tombolato, two loving daughters, Caroline Tombolato of Milford and Joanne Dias and her husband Albert of Trumbull, three cherished grandchildren, Carla, Vincent and Albert Dias, a special niece Danielle Dragone and her husband Tony as well as several other nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 8 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
