Obituary of Nicholas E. Bruno

Nicholas E. Bruno, age 92, of Trumbull and formerly of Fairfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Antoinette Desien Bruno. Born in Bridgeport, on December 25, 1920, he was the son of the late James and Rose Vendetti Bruno. A US Army Veteran of World War II, Nick had proudly served during the Battle of the Bulge and was later employed as a machinist for Bullard Company before his retirement after many years of dedicated service. His greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of 64 years, Antoinette, other survivors include his daughter, Linda Anne Newton of Milford, sons-in-law, Donald Scarpetti and his wife Paulette of North Haven and Stephen Dickinson of England, seven grandchildren, Christopher, Brian and Ashley Newton, Francis Zwierlein III and his wife Cortney, Donald Scarpetti II, Katherine Scarpetti and James Dickinson, a sister, Evelyn Canto of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughters, Karen R. Dickinson and Beverly Scarpetti and a sister, Anna Bruno. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of K-3 at the Jewish Home for their outstanding and compassionate care to Nick and the entire family. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 5:00 p.m.
