Obituary of Michele G. Yellen

Oxford Resident YELLEN Michele G. Yellen O.C.N., age 55, of Oxford, died on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Our world lost a truly wonderful and loving person. She will be greatly missed by all those she had touched while she was with us. When our sadness subsides, a smile and a warm feeling will take its place. We will feel grateful to have known her, just as she felt grateful to have known all of her friends. The Queen as she was affectionately called will continue to live with all of us. Michele spent the last 20 years of her life caring for those with this dreaded and terrible disease at St. Vincent Medical Center and Medical Specialists of Fairfield. She was an exceptionally talented O.C.N. who was loved and respected by all those who she cared for and worked with. As good as she was at her profession; she was an even better person in life. The loves of her life were her children and her dogs, who she loved and cared for to the end. It caused her great pain when she knew she would not be here to continue that. She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen, who will always remember what Michele told him, That she was the best thing to happen to him. Her daughter, Elyssa and her son , Jesse, who she loved with all her heart. A sister, Jackie Perless of Fairfield, a brother, Marc Pernaveau of Ridgefield, her life long friend, Karen Thompson of Charlestown, Rhode Island. Her nephews, Robbie and Andrew Perless of Fairfield, aunts, Vera Jenkins of Florida and Elsie Deascentis of Rhode Island, uncles Norman Cory of Mississippi and Edward Pernaveau of Florida. Her family extended to all her loving friends from Pathmark Supermarkets, 7-East at St Vincent Medical Center and everyone at Medical Specialists of Fairfield. The family would like to thank the best hospital there is, St. Vincent Medical Center and all those at 7 East who cared for one of there own. And everyone at Medical Specialists of Fairfield who did everything that they could to care for Michele and her family, and who were with her to the very end. The family cant thank them enough, and for Vitas Hospice Care who cared for Michele to the end.
