Obituary of Theresa Bucci

Resident of Fairfield Theresa DiVito Bucci, of Fairfield, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at the age of 82. She was born March 5, 1926 in the town of Roccasicura, Italy. On July 10, 1947, she married the late Angelo Bucci and came to the United States on February 22, 1948. They resided in Bridgeport until his death. Theresa was a resident of Fairfield for the last 10 years. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church, including a Eucharistic Minister and the St. Theresas Guild. Additionally, she enjoyed knitting for charity, cooking, and was devoted to her family. Survivors include her two sons, Dominic and his wife Natalie of Ansonia and John and his wife Joan of Huntington, three daughters, Ann and Robert Johnson of Boxford, MA; Marie Strona of New York City and Terry and Steve Maklari of Fairfield, as well as 12 grandchildren, Karen, Tony, Scott, Chris Bucci, Leslie VanVolkinburg, Chase and Lori Johnson, Marnie Gilbeley, Mark Strona and Susan, Amy, and Jackie Maklari and 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters, Josephine Gioiosa of Canada and Marietta Patete of Italy, and is pre-deceased by her sister Filomena DiPlacito and brother Michael DiVito. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Bridgeport Hospital and Vitas for their care and compassion. Their gratitude also goes out to the clergy and her many friends for their continued friendship and support. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
