Obituary of Carmen L. Caggianello

U.S. Army Veteran Carmen L. Caggianello, age 86, of Bridgeport, died on Friday, November 28, 2008 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 16, 1922, he was a son of the late Antonio and Gabriella Christino Caggianello. Carmen was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and received a B.S. from the Teaching College of Connecticut. A U.S. Army veteran he served during WWII in Europe and the Philippines, and was a retired employee of IBM with over 35 years of service. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers Nicholas, Joseph and V. James Caggianello, a sister-in-law, Lillian Caggianello and brotherin-law Nicholas Daston. Survivors include a sister, Carmella (Millie) Daston of Bridgeport, two sisters-in-law, Jane Caggianello of Stratford and Antoinette Caggianello of Shelton, nieces and nephews, Cheryl Nelson and her husband Hugh, Kathy Gernat and her husband Paul, Toni Ann Simpson, Patricia Ariano and her husband Frank, Christine Woods and her husband Jim, Anthony Daston and his wife Rana, Anthony Caggianello and his wife Jan and Robert Daston and his wife Cindy as well as 16 great nieces and nephews and 6 great great nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine Chapel, 2539 Park Ave Bridgeport on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours.
