Obituary of Florence S. Corso

Fairfield Resident Florence Marra Corso, age 86, of Fairfield, died on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at her residence. Born in Bridgeport on August 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Fioravante and Antonetta Forte Marra. She received her teaching degree from the University of Bridgeport and was an educator for the City of Bridgeport for 30 years. Florence had a true love and passion for teaching and guiding her students. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of the Assumption Church and the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association. She was pre-deceased by her husband Dominick A. Corso and a son Michael Passalacqua. Survivors include a son Rocco K. Corso of Waterbury, a daughter, Marie Corso Zikaras and her husband Dr. Robert Zikaras of Fairfield, a step-daughter Joan Slinka of Bridgeport, four grandchildren, Jilliana and Matthew Zikaras and Lauren and Rocco D. Corso, a special niece Florence Marra as well as several additional nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
