Obituary of Anna Maria Montanaro

Anna Maria Tartaglia Montanaro, age 77, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Guiseppe (Joseph) Montanaro, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Minturno, Province of Latina, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Michele and Maria Forte Tartaglia. She came to the United States in 1972, settling in Bridgeport. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was employed by Lindley Caterers for many years before her retirement. Survivors include three loving sons, Gino Montanaro and his wife Joanne of Shelton, Michael Montanaro and his wife Delene of Ansonia, Maurizio Montanaro of Stratford and former daughter-in-law Jennifer Ciamei of Trumbull, two brothers, Marsilio Tartaglia of Bridgeport and Mario Tartaglia of CA, three sisters, Francesca Alicandro of Italy, Rosina Erodici of Bridgeport and Nancy Rousseu of Bridgeport, five cherished grandchildren, Gino, Melissa, Lanamarie, Luke and Owen Montanaro, an adored great granddaughter, Lia as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
