Obituary of Francis J. Dillon

Francis J. Dillon, age 94, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Nanette Salisbury Dillon, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury. Born in Chicago, IL on March 3, 1920, he was a son of the late Walter and Agatha McCloon Dillon. Mr. Dillon was a World War II U. S. Army Veteran serving in Korea and Okinawa. He was a purchasing agent at the American Can Company for many years and later became a real estate agent with William Pitt Realty before his retirement. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following Notre Dame Football and Carolina Basketball and was a member of St. Mark Church, Stratford. Survivors include his four children, Ann Binetti and her husband Paul of Vernon Hills, IL, Patrick Dillon and his wife Marie of Brookfield, John Dillon of Manchester, NH and Maureen Dillon of Stratford, a sister, Barbara Schaettle of Onalaska, WI and three grandchildren, Lisa Binnetti, Jake and Kim Dillon as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. 5 Brookside Dr., PO Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
