Obituary of Earl M. Falvey Jr.

Earle M. Falvey Jr., age 91, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Gabrielle Gagnon Falvey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Cambridge Manor with his devoted wife by his side. Born in Bridgeport on March 14, 1923, he was a son of the late Earle Sr. and Bette Falvey. A graduate of the University of Bridgeport, he then worked for Sikorsky Aircraft with 29 years of dedicated service before his retirement. Earle was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; he was in the submarine service having served in the Asiatic and Pacific. He was a member of the Navy League, Disabled Veterans, Port 5, Eastern USA Chapter of the Sub Vets WW II, Stratford Senior Men's Club and Sikorsky Retirees Men's Club. Earle enjoyed singing in the Sacred Heart Church Choir and the Fairfield Community Choir. Earle enjoyed playing golf, bowling, tennis, music, ballroom dancing and all naval activities. But above all, he treasured his time spent with his wife and family. He was a loving and caring man who will be deeply missed by all. In addition to his devoted wife of 66 years, Gabrielle, other survivors include a brother Thomas Jordan of Madison, a sister, Barbara Falvey of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Whitely. Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, with military honors. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
