Obituary of Dolores Mastri

Dolores C. Mastri, age 75, of Shelton and formerly of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Cesero) Crudele. She graduated from Central High School, class of 1957. Dolores retired from People's United Bank as an Assistant Vice President of the Mortgage Department. Dolores was a loving mother who brought joy into the lives of her family and friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Dolores enjoyed cooking traditional Italian meals for her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling with her companion Bob to many vacation destinations. After retirement, Dolores enjoyed spending time at the Mohegan Sun Casino where she always had great times with her friends. Survivors include her loving daughter, Dawn (Mastri) Fusco and her husband Michael of Shelton, her cherished grandchildren, Joseph Michael Fusco and Marissa Nicole Fusco, her longtime companion Robert Toohey of Milford, her devoted cousin, who was like a sister, Patricia Sciortino and her husband James of Trumbull, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her brother, Anthony "Jumbo" Crudele and her former husband, Leonard Mastri Jr. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the physicians and medical staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center, especially those in the Intensive Care Unit who provided her extraordinary care. We would also like to recognize Dr. Philip Simkovitz who cared for her throughout her illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 A.M. in St. Theresa's Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
