Obituary of Robert J. Beecher

Robert J. Beecher, Sr., age 79, of Ansonia, beloved husband of Mary Ann Cannizzaro Beecher, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 in the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. Born in New Haven on September 16, 1935, he was a son of the late John and Eleanor Edberg Beecher. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a partner and Senior Vice President of Quality Sheet Metal of Naugatuck. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed following the New York Giants, Boston Red Sox and NASCAR. He also enjoyed playing golf and was extremely proud to have achieved two holes in one. He was a member of the Kingdom Life Christian Church in Milford and will be remembered as being a devoted family man. In addition to Mary Ann, his wife of 47 years, survivors include his twin sons, James P. Beecher and his wife Gina and Robert J. Beecher II, all of Ansonia, three grandchildren, Anastasha, Cameron and Hailey, a brother, Jack Beecher and his wife Barbara of Wallingford, two sisters, Sharon Jankowski and her husband Vincent of Newington and Linda Beecher of Wallingford as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Guests can greet the family at 1:30 p.m. in Kingdom Life Christian Church, 1455 Naugatuck Ave., Milford, CT 06461 on Sunday, October 26, 2014. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will follow.
