Obituary of Raymond A. Cisero

Raymond A. "Buddy" Cisero, age 92, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Kathleen Mondo Cisero, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on May 24, 1922, he was a son of the late Charles and Bertha Richter Cisero. He resided on Sylvan Street most of his life until moving to Monroe the last few years. He was retired 40 years from the Bridgeport Brass Co and was a licensed plumber. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and received several victory medals. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 177 and the VFW Post 145. Since the loss of his wife Kathleen, over 2 years ago, Dad was left with a hole in heart that never healed. His mourn for her weighted heavy on his chest and lead to his failing health. He was an avid hunter for deer and took great pride in gardening and loved his ice cream. He was known to help everyone and could fix most everything. He enjoyed his morning coffee with friends at Whites Diner for over 60 years. He also found great enjoyment with his brother Charlie and best friend George Malash, Sr. riding their mini-bikes on their weekend outings. Our Popeye's will be truly missed and in our hearts forever. Survivors include a son Raymond C. Cisero Jr. and a daughter, Diane Cisero, both of Monroe, a sister, Lorraine Gray of Trumbull and two beloved grandchildren, Raymond D. Cisero and Marissa Eichler. A beloved nephew, Alex Cisero and his wife Kathy of Stratford. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Charles Cisero. Special thanks to Bruce for his help and Nancy for moral support and listening. Thanks to friends for the daily calls checking on dad. We truly admire all the doctors, nurses and staff at the West Haven Veterans hospital for the outstanding, compassionate, and gentle care during his stay. Our sincere thanks to his Cardiologist, Dr Kevin Lenhart for his outstanding care over the years and family support during difficult times, and a special thank you to Brittnay from New England Health Care for her exceptional care and devotion. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Haven Veterans Hospital, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516.
