Obituary of Joan Benedetto
Joan D'Addario Benedetto, age 79, of the Town of Easton, beloved wife of the late John D. Benedetto, died on Monday, January 19, 2015 at her home. Joan was born February 2, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Nicola & Louisa Moscone D'Addario.
She retired in 1988 from D'Addario Construction Industries, where she was a partner in the business, with her late brother, F. Francis "HI-HO" D'Addario. She then spent time with her sons, who own Housatonic Paper & Supply Co., Inc.
Joan is survived by her devoted sons, who she was so proud of and loved dearly. They were her life and kept her going and facing life, Nicholas J. Benedetto and his wife Nancy and John M. Benedetto and his wife Donna, all of Easton, three grandchildren, who brought much laughter, pride and joy in her life, Alexis, Isabel and Lauren. Joan also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was a member and past president to the Ladies Council of Notre Dame of Easton Church, served as co-president and was a member of the Bishop's Women's Council. She loved music, was a member of the Diocesan Choir, Notre Dame Church Choir, and the Contiamo Choir, and served on the Easton Day Committee.
Friends are invited to meet directly in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Rd., Easton, CT on Saturday January 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. At Joan's request there will be no calling hours and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
