Obituary of Francesca Maione

Francesca Maione, age 90, a longtime resident of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Giuseppe Maione, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 31, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 8, 1924 in Lago, Calabria, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Cristina Gatto and Genaro Greco. She was predeceased by her twin brother and her sister, Filomena Maria Campagna. Francesca was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who devoted herself to the love and care of her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband of 65 years, Giuseppe, survivors include her seven children, Carmelo Maione and his wife Carmelina of Shelton, Lina Maione of Italy, Maria Guidi and her husband Frank of Stratford, Angelo Maione and his wife Wendy of Shelton, Mario Maione and his wife Mafalda of Monroe, Eva Cerquozzi and her husband Armando of Bridgeport and Grace DelFranco and her husband Peter of Fairfield. She also leaves to cherish her memory 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
