Obituary of Virginia Cellini
Virginia "Frooge" Capasso Cellini, age 96, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Daniel Cellini, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015 with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on November 30, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Sanita Felicella Capasso. Virginia was a devoted parishioner at St. Theresa Church and enjoyed watching NY Yankee Baseball. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Elizabeth C. Smith, sister, Palma Iodice, brothers, Anthony, John, Ralph and Patrick Capasso. Survivors include a loving daughter, Mary Markham of Trumbull, son-in-law, Brian P. Smith of Trumbull, five cherished grandchildren, Danielle Persico and her husband Randy, Sean Markham and his wife Kim, Christopher Markham, Maura Palermo and her husband Jeff and Daniel Smith, seven great grandchildren, James and Rebecca Palermo, Madison, Cole and Chase Markham, Zoe and Isabel O'Neil, two sisters, Madlyn Karpinski and her husband Eugene of Southport and Cele Catullo of Shelton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church 5301 Main St., Trumbull, CT 06611. At Virginia's request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
