Obituary of Raymond P. Palovchak

Raymond P. Palovchak, age 84, beloved husband of Catherine Gayda Palovchak of Shelton, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Palovchak was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and before his retirement, he was an electrician with the IBEW Local 488 for over 60 years. Ray loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating; and also was an avid bowler, having held a position on many different leagues. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife Catherine of nearly 60 years, other survivors include three loving daughters, Margaret Lewis and her husband Bill of Monroe, Trish Flynn and her husband Dan of Monroe and Judith Kohanowski and her husband Charles of Oxford, his six cherished grandchildren, Kathryn Lewis, Shawn and Macayla Flynn and Kyle, T.J. and Matthew Kohanowski. He was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan M. Flynn. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
