Obituary of Rogelio Martinez

Rogelio (Tatin) Martinez, age 79, beloved husband of Marta Martinez of Bridgeport, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Cuba on April 18, 1936, he was a son of the late Rogelio and Veronica Cortez Martinez and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. Before his retirement, Mr. Martinez was a machine operator at Heim Bearing Corp. of Fairfield for many years. He enjoyed spending time at the Liceo Cubano Club of Bridgeport where he was a member since 1957. In addition to his wife Marta of 55 years, survivors include his two loving children, Eduardo Martinez (Iris Parzaile) of Bridgeport, Marta Nieves (Frankie Nieves) of Trumbull, five grandchildren, Eduardo Martinez Jr.(Melissa) of FL, Ricardo Martinez of Bridgeport, Daniel, Jessenia and Marcus Nieves, all of Trumbull as well as two great granddaughters. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday (TODAY) from 4-8 p.m.
