Obituary of Joao Moura Pereira

Joao Moura Pereira, age 67, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Born on February 22, 1948 in Meixedo, Montalegre, Portugal, he was a son of the late Jose Esteves Pereira and Teresa Alves Crespo. Joao was employed as a foreman with Heim Bearing Company for many years before his retirement and served in the Portuguese Army. He was a loving and caring man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include two daughters, Bella Ferreira and Nancy Pereira, both of Bridgeport, three grandchildren, Steven, Sabrina and Amanda and a great grandson Kevin. He also leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Domingos Alves Crespo and his wife Gloria of Bridgeport, Antonio Pereira of Portugal, two sisters, Maria Alves Crespo and Gloria Alves Crespo, both of Portugal, as well as his nieces Ines Crespo De Sousa and husband Peter De Sousa of Trumbull, Maria Crespo Nunes and husband Delfim Nunes of Huntington who he loved dearly and many more nieces and nephews in Portugal. He was predeceased by a brother Jose Alves Crespo. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
