Obituary of Harvey B. Merrick

Harvey "Buzz" Merrick, age 88, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Jeanne Pellegrino Merrick, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Boston, MA on August 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Kenneth Merrick and Edna Frances Foster Merrick. Harvey served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After his years of service, Harvey became owner and operator of the Merrick Agency, where he specialized in mortgages, insurance, and real estate. In his spare time, you could find him on the golf course enjoying a few rounds with friends. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed relaxing to music, and traveling to the Caribbean. In more recent years, Harvey relished his annual winters in the Villages in Florida. Harvey was a great father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include a son, Steven Merrick and his wife Lauren Kiss Merrick of Trumbull, a daughter, Dr. Christine Merrick of Dublin, CA, a brother George Merrick of FL, and his nephew Alan Merrick and wife Lisa and their family of Bethel. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull
