Obituary of Mohammed Ali Akhavan Farahani

Mohammad Ali Akhavan Farahani, age 93, of Woodbridge passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Kobra Akhavan Farahani. Born in Arak, Iran, on August 13, 1922, he was the son of the late Mirza Agha and Khadijeh. He was a retired employee of The University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran with over 30 years of dedicated service. After his retirement he moved to Woodbridge where he has resided for twenty-seven years. Through his hard work and dedication to his family, was able to raise his family of five children, educating all. He was one half of a loving marriage of 72 years to Kobra Hezaveh. We, their children obey their wishes and continue our family chain and remain as close as ever. He is survived by his children, Mary Forootan and her husband Behrooz of Carlsbad, CA, Homayoon Farahani and his wife Shahrzad of Houston, TX, Mehran Zamanian and her husband Behnam of San Jose, CA, Mina Alizadeh and her husband Mehrdad of Tehran, Iran and Fereidoun Farahani and his wife Sharon of Woodbridge, his nine grandchildren, Shadi Farahani, Dana Forootan, Ali Zamanian, Shirin Farahani, Mani Alizadeh, Amir Zamanian, Mina Farahani and her husband Mikhil Ponkshe, Nima Alizadeh and his wife Sarah Alizadeh and Dari Farahani, and a great grandchild, Harper Farahani Slaughter. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nahal Heibodi for all of the care given to Mohammed during his time of need. Friends can greet the family from 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Graveside services will follow in Northwest Cemetery, Woodbridge.
