Obituary of Joseph M. Solemene, Sr.
Joseph M. Solemene, Sr., age 64, beloved husband of JoAnn Kerekes Solemene of Shelton, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on November 7, 1951, he was a son of Rosalie Leopardi Solemene of Stratford and the late Michael A. Solemene.
Mr. Solemene an assistant W.P.C.A. administrator for the Town of Trumbull for over 20 years, before his retirement. Joe was always busy working on a project and kept himself doing something. He enjoyed working in his yard tending to his grass, playing golf with a good cigar traveling all over the country with his wife. But what he loved the most was his family and the time they spent together especially with his grandsons at family dinners and holidays. Wherever he went he was the life of the party, a great story teller and loved to make people laugh. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, JoAnn, survivors include two sons, Michael Solemene and his wife Jillian of Stratford and Joseph M. Solemene Jr. of Shelton, a brother and sisters, Andrea Bargo and her husband Robert of Ansonia, Michael Solemene of Milford and Gail Solemene of West Haven and two cherished grandsons, Rocco and Mason as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Ave., Shelton on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
