Obituary of Thomas J. Capozziello Sr.

Thomas J. Capozziello Sr., age 64, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Joyce Teto Capozziello, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on November 10, 1952, he was the 14th child of the late Alfred M. Capozziello Sr. and Mary Riccio Capozziello. A real estate entrepreneur, Thomas took great pride in helping others. He was the former owner and operator of Bridgeport Wrecking and Demolition for many years. He also found great enjoyment following the horses and traveling to the casino. But above all things he was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved life and his family dearly and put them first above all else. The memories and love he gave to them will always live in their hearts. He will truly be missed by all. In addition to his beloved wife of 28 years, Joyce, survivors include three loving children, Jennifer Capozziello of Trumbull, Jessica Capozziello and Thomas J. Capozziello Jr., both of Bridgeport, an adored grandson, Robert Capozziello, his sister, Angela Zilli, his brothers, Matty, Gino, Russell, Lenny, Dennis, Kenny and Marshall Capozziello, brother-in-law, Albert Teto of Florida and sister-in-law, Sandra Carter of Ansonia, a very dear family friend, who was a mother figure to Tom, Elinor Harris of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Kistner, and his brothers, Christy, John, Vinny, Gary and Alfred. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
