Obituary of Lena Volpe

Lena Trovarelli Volpe, age 94, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late James Michael Volpe, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home. Born in Bridgeport on October, 29, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Cipriano Trovarelli. Lena was a longtime parishioner of St. Ambrose and St. Margaret Shrine and enjoyed playing bingo at St. Ambrose. Family was very important and her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband James, she was predeceased by a son, Michael James Volpe and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son, James Michael Volpe, Jr. of Sandy Hook, daughter-in-law, Penny R. Volpe of Sandy Hook, five grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Rebecca, Joshua and Izaiah and eight great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and Friends may greet the family on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. All are invited to meet directly at St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
