Obituary of Mary Buzzanca

Mary "May" Buzzanca passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was born in Bridgeport on November 1, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Lukackyk Karpuk. Mary was the devoted wife to the late Salvatore "Sam" Buzzanca, her one true love who she met at the young age of 14. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, never missing a chance to see them play one of their many sports. She worked at Remington Arms and as a part time waitress, but her real calling was that of a homemaker, wife, and loving mother. Dinnertime and family gatherings were cherished times. Over her years living in Trumbull, May developed many lasting friendships while playing her favorite game of bridge, going to Broadway plays, traveling, or taking a trip to the casino. She touched many lives with her kind and caring nature. Survivors include two sons, David J. Buzzanca and his wife Patty and their children, Emily and Michelle of Stratford and Gary M. Buzzanca and his wife Laura and their children, Garrison and Anna of Newtown, a sister, Olga Katsis of North Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Karpuk. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. directly in the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, 1510 East Main St. Bridgeport with Fr. Steven Belonik officiating. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull with Panikhida Services at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
