Obituary of David R. Biondi
David R. Biondi, Esq., age 75, of Shelton, beloved husband of Patricia Sedita Biondi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York, NY on August 14, 1941, David was a resident of Hell's Kitchen and a son of the late Nicholas and Honora Murphy Biondi. A highly accomplished and respected corporate and private practice attorney, David earned a B.S. in accounting from St. Peter's College; an L.L.B. and J.D. from Brooklyn Law School; and an L.L.M. from New York University. He specialized in corporate law, taxation, real estate and mergers and acquisitions, with a significant focus on international matters. Attorney Biondi held numerous senior legal positions through his career (including at companies such as Gulf &Western, Paramount and Raybestos) and appeared in high-ranking federal and state courts.
In addition, he represented numerous governments in various international transactions and was also a contributor on U.S. tax and pension regulatory matters. Attorney Biondi was a member of the New York and Connecticut Bar Association, and admitted to the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Claims Court, U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of NY and U.S. District Court of CT. Most recently, David focused his practice locally in CT and took great pride in representing individuals and small businesses. David was an avid boatsman for many years and truly enjoyed spending time on the open sea and at local yacht clubs where he was an active member. He was also an avid fan of the NY Giants, with whom he participated in an open try-out as a placekicker (he did not make the team). Above all, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who treasured time with his family. He also cared deeply for his canine companions Hanna and Bella. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife of 28 years, Patricia, survivors include seven loving children: David Biondi II (wife Katherine) of Mesa, AZ, Peter Biondi (wife Christine) of Trumbull, Brian Biondi of New Orleans, LA, Terri Rohan (husband Alex) of Stamford, Christopher DeSanctis (wife Deneen) of Staten Island, NY, Donamarie Oligino (husband Todd) of Daniel Island, SC and David DeSanctis (wife Christina) of Trumbull; three siblings: brothers Dr. Richard Biondi (wife Cindy) of Beacon Falls and Lawrence Biondi of Milford, and sister Christina Macejak (husband Edward) of Madison; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert and Susan Biondi.
