Obituary of Alma T. Pultz
Alma T. Pultz, also lovingly known as Chris, Tillie, and Amma, left this life on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 to join her beloved husband and family in Heaven. Chris left a warm and tender mark on every life she touched. Born on May 2,1930 to Patsy and Alma Christiano in New York City, Chris was one of 4 loved children and realized after surviving a nearly fatal ruptured appendix as a young girl, that she wanted to grow up to be a nurse and help nurture the healing process in people. She was the first woman in her family to attend college and she was a member of the first graduating class of Registered Nurses of the Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing. Chris was a true caregiver in the purest sense. Whether she was tending to patients, a neighborhood child, or one of her own children, she lived her life on duty, 24/7.
Chris met the love of her life, Neil Pultz, at his 19th surprise birthday party and the rest is history. Chris and Neil were married at St. Mary Church in Greenwich, CT on November 17, 1951. They spent the next six decades building a loving home and family. Her final years were spent at Middlebrook Farms Assisted Living in Trumbull, CT, where she was loved by all and became known as The Sunshine Lady! Chris and her sister Marie, were avid quilters and crafters and she continued to create blankets, scarves, infant caps for any and all in need of some handmade love.
Chris was predeceased by her devoted husband, Neil Pultz, Sr., her sister, Marie Zeeb, and her brother, Charles Christiano. She has left her legacy of love and compassion with her remaining family; Neil & Priscilla Pultz, David and Liz Pultz, Kevin and Marietta Pultz, Sheila Stevenson, Tim Pultz and Pamela Birnbaum. Chris was the much cherished Amma to Mallory and Charlotte Pultz, Jillian Moccia, Sean Pultz, Kimberly Pultz, Devan Weber and Caroline Stevenson, and the Great Amma to Kaelyn and Bryan Weber.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. Her family invites all to a celebration of her life on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Western CT Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Curtain Call, a nonprofit theater in Stamford, CT.
