I remember as a 9 year old how my sister's boyfriend,Doug, would take me and my brothers to Lake George to go scuba diving. None of us knew how to swim but Doug bought at Andy's sporting goods co2 cartridge life jackets and then drilled us as to how and when to use the rip cord. There was no way that we could drown with those jackets!. Lunch was balogna and cheese sandwiches and chips. To us is was "fine dining!" I remember the chicks for Easter and the miniature beagle,Cleo that he gave us. I remember all the time he would play ball with us, asking about our interests and unknowingly to us at the time,how he was attempting to make us better men. I remember the Admiral tape recorder that he gave me to help with my clarinet playing. I would record and play back myself playing till the tapes wore out.I remember him getting upset with my parents about his relation with my sister and exclaiming to them,' there is only 3 things that I love in this life; the Cleveland Indians, my car and Lois!" Through all these years only one of those things remained true- his love for Lois! After their marriage I would miss them terribly and the highlight of any holiday would be when they would come and the grand fun times and joking that he would provide into the wee morning hours. I know that my life would have probably turned out differently if he had not come into it. Though you always lived away, I at least now, because of my faith, can converse with you any time that I'd like. I love you Doug! Did I just hear someone say "BAHBAH!!!
