Obituary of Rizziero Mastronardi

Rizziero (Roger) Mastronardi, age 80, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Concetta Bracaglia Mastronardi, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. Born in Frosinone, Italy on April 2, 1938, he was a son of the late Ernesto and Maria Liburdi Mastronardi. He served in the Italian Army from 1959-1961 in the 7th company of the 8° Regimento Bersaglieri. Following his military service, he learned his craft of masonry before immigrating to the United States in 1965. He then went on and founded Mastronardi Brothers. He was a proud member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Union Local #2. Rizziero enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garden, making wine and playing cards with friends at Circolo Sportivo. In addition to his wife Concetta, of 52 years, he is survived by his three children, Patrizia Cortina and her husband Albert of Easton, Luciana Mastronardi and Ernesto Mastronardi, both of Bridgeport. He is also survived a brother, Antonio Mastronardi and his wife Adele of Bridgeport, two sisters, Anna Santone and Amelia Giacobbe and her husband Raimondo, all of Bridgeport. In addition, he has three adoring grandchildren, Albert, Alessandra and Anthony Cortina, who he cherished. He has several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in- law Gino Santone. The family would like to thank Yale New Haven Hospital for the care and support they provided. Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 25, 2018 meeting directly at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
