My deepest condolences to the family of Brian Purdy. My family moved across the street from his family in 1955. I first met him sometime after that. We shared many youthful adventures and played a lot of baseball. The warmth and kindness he possessed will be missed.

Cindy and family,
So sorry for your loss. I can still remember the times during soccer games Brian would tell me to snap the flag when the ball went out of play. He was always laughing at Kim Jacovino and I. Brian always had kind words for all and was so diplomatic if anyone had an issue. I missed him when he left AYSO and now even more. Cheers to a great man!

I am so sorry for your loss of Brian. My thoughts are with your family. Growing up on Tomahawk street in Park Forest, he was a long time friend.
I have fond memories of living just down the street from Brian’s house. We were friends and shared activities with mutual friends on the block. I especially remember getting kittens two times from their cat; playing board games and outdoor adventures. When he returned for CMHS REUNIONS we managed to chat about old and present times. Brian was someone good to know.

Brian’s classmates from Crete-Monee Class of 1970 will remember him as a friendly guy. We were in contact with Brian about 8 years ago for our 40th reunion. Sadly, Brian was unable to attend. He was missed at our reunion in 2010 and will be remembered when we meet for our 50th reunion in 2020. Rest In Peace, Brian.

I only met Mr. Purdy a couple of times, but heard about him often. Sara, your love and admiration for your father were evident in the way you talked about him. I hope to continue to hear stories about your father and your family to help you carry on his legacy. All the staff here at The Kennedy Center wish you and your family the deepest sympathies, and Paul and I are here for you in whatever ways you may need. I know you will continue to celebrate your father and the amazing life he lived, and although your children are young, I know that his memory will never be forgotten, and in turn, they will continue to know and love their grandfather as much as you do.
Our Deepest Sympathies,
Fiona, Paul, Olivia and Colin

I also worked with Brian at Canadian Pacific. I respect the passion and conviction he brought to his work. He genuinely cared for his customers and his coworkers.
Spending time with Brian, it was easy to see that his family and home life was always a big part of him. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting his family, but I feel like I know you a little bit from hearing Brian talk about you with such warmth and pride.
I know from personal experience that when someone leaves suddenly and unexpectedly, it can be a shock and that some of the shock waves keep coming for some time to come. For everyone who will be missing Brian in the days to come, I wish you comfort, happy memories and the kind of big warm hug he would no doubt want to give you. We are better off for having known him.

I worked with Brian at CP for many years and learned to love him. We had some great times together whenever he came to Montreal, when I went to New York and during our many International group meetings. We had many laughs together.
He always talked about Cindy and the kids and was obviously very dedicated to them. My wife Diane and I were lucky enough to meet Brian and Cindy for dinner in New York a few years back. We often thought about that dinner and were hoping to get together again this fall.
I am very sad.
Diane and I would like to send our sincere condolences to the family. He will be truly missed.

My sincerest condolences to the Purdy family during this difficult time.
Brian always knew how to make me laugh and relax while we worked together at CP. Brian was more than a coworker, he was a good friend and always treated me with respect given our age difference. He always put his family first and taught me valuable lessons outside of the workplace. Brian, I will miss our catch up sessions and hearing your laugh the most.

Brian and I shared many trips, meetings, and challenges as CP managers. Always willing to lend a hand to his teammates, he was kind, generous, and always at the service of his customers. He adored his Red Wings, but nothing came close to the love he had for his family. Unfortunately, I never met Cindy or Mike or the girls, but we always shared our stories about our kids and family life. I will miss you BP......
