Obituary of Rita DeCarlo Humphries

Rita R. DeCarlo Humphries, age 80, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 23, 2018. She was the wife of the late Raymond Humphries and James Daddana. Born in Bridgeport on September 17, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Louis DeCarlo and Rose Salese Abbruscato. A graduate of Harding High School, Rita was later employed by Sacred Heart University, where she worked as assistant to the President before her retirement with many years of dedicated service. She loved books and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed playing pinochle, but her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored so much. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Cheryl Lucy and her husband Philip of Trumbull, Janice Rousso and her husband John of Trumbull and June Campoli and her husband Tom of Seymour, her four cherished grandchildren, Philip Lucy and his wife Caroline and Blake Lucy and his wife Lauren, and John and Nicholas Rousso. In addition to her previous husbands, James and Raymond, she was also predeceased by her son, James E. Daddana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. directly in the McClinch Family Center at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
